Block Paving Cleaning We recommend Sealing your paving
Block paving is the number one choice for driveways and patios and as we all know, they look impressive when first laid but within a short space of time nature takes it toll and weeds and moss along with oil/diesel deposits diminish the appearance of your expensive investment.(Like in the image above) The Process
- Minor repairs to the paving is considered. Plant pots and garden furniture are moved aside.
- The area is then thoroughly cleaned to remove the dirt, grime, algae, weeds, moss and lichen that has built up over time. Using a 3000psi pressure washer coupled with a Rotary Flat Surface Cleaner, specially designed to contain the dirt it removes.
- The surface is then examined for any remaining stains, such as oil or mortar and even chewing gum then specific corrective action is taken.
- Where required areas will be treated with a broad-spectrum fungicidal wash to help eliminate remaining weeds and spores and to inhibit re-growth.
- Once the paving is completely dry, kiln-dried silica sand is brushed into the joints.
- To provide a long lasting finish, a high quality two coat acrylic sealer can be applied to the surface to reduce future staining, enhance the natural colour of the block paving and prevent the further growth of weeds, algae, lichen and moss. This is an optional extra but is highly recommended.
- Final checks will be carried out and all furniture is replaced.
Minor repairsSome driveways suffer from subsidence. Providing the damage is not too extensive we are able to offer a repair service, subject to site visit and quotation. StainsRemoval of oil stains on block paving can be difficult to remove, experience has shown that, providing the correct procedures are adopted, our success rate in completely removing oil stains is around 90%. The extent of the stain and the length of time it's been there must be taken into account.
SealingBlast Away fully recommends that you choose to seal your paving after cleaning to ensure your driveway or patio area remains weed free and stable; prolonging lifespan and preventing paving failure. This is achieved by using our high quality two coat acrylic sealer. The acrylic when dry, hardens to protect the jointing sand from being washed away. This in turn protects the sub-base from being eroded and your driveway subsiding, thereby avoiding costly repairs. It also inhibits the growth of moss and weeds, and should you get an oil spill, it can be simply hosed or power washed away without causing damage to your driveway.
